MESSAGE FROM THE HEAD

It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Murray MacDougall School, a school where every child is known, valued and encouraged to become the very best version of themselves.

Our motto, “Endeavour,” captures the spirit of our school. We encourage our pupils to embrace every opportunity with courage, curiosity and determination; to learn from challenges, persevere when things are difficult and take pride in striving for excellence. We believe that success is not simply measured by what a child achieves, but also by the character, resilience and integrity they develop along the way.

At Murray MacDougall, we are committed to providing an education that is both ambitious and holistic. Strong academic foundations are at the heart of our work, but we recognise that education extends far beyond the classroom. Through sport, the arts, culture, leadership, creativity, service and co-curricular activities, our pupils are empowered to discover their strengths, develop their talents and find their own voices. We want every child to leave us with the confidence to think independently, make a positive difference and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

We place particular value on reading, literacy and a lifelong love of learning. The ability to read with understanding, communicate with confidence and engage thoughtfully with ideas opens doors to opportunity. Our dedicated teachers and staff work in partnership with parents, families, former pupils and the wider community to create a safe, inclusive, caring and stimulating environment in which every child can flourish. We believe that when a school community works together with a shared purpose, children are given the strongest possible foundation for their future.
