OUR HISTORY
Murray MacDougall Junior School is a welcoming learning community in Triangle, Zimbabwe, with a proud history dating back to 1961.
The school began with just fourteen pupils and one teacher, operating from the former workshop and wagon shed of Lowveld pioneer Thomas Murray MacDougall. From these humble beginnings, Murray MacDougall has grown into a vibrant school committed to nurturing confident, responsible and well-rounded young people.
The Founding
Murray MacDougall opens with fourteen pupils and one teacher, operating from Thomas Murray MacDougall's former workshop and wagon shed.
Finding A Home
As enrolment grows, the school moves to a house on Stanley Cooke Road, then relocates to its permanent site during Term 3 of the same year.
A Private School
The school transitions from a government-staffed company facility into a private school under Triangle Limited.
Six decades of endeavour
Guided by our motto, “Endeavour,” we encourage every pupil to work diligently, embrace new opportunities and strive for excellence. Our educational programme combines a strong academic foundation with sport, culture, creativity, leadership and character development.
Supported by committed teachers and a caring school community, pupils learn in a safe and stimulating environment where every child is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential.
More than six decades after welcoming its first fourteen pupils, Murray MacDougall School continues to honour its heritage while preparing children for the future, equipping them with the knowledge, values and confidence to make a positive contribution to society.
